Tóm tắt	Dental extraction in cardiovascular patients receiving antithrombotic therapy faces a challenge in post-operative hemorrhage. This study was conducted to evaluate risk factors associated with early post-extraction bleeding in cardiovascular patients undergoing anticoagulant therapy. Crosssectional descriptive study on cardiovascular patients who were using antithrombotic drugs and had tooth extraction at the hospital. Patients with molar extraction had a 50% post-operative bleeding rate. At 1-hour post-extraction the group of patients with bleeding had significant lower platelets (229.6±25.0 vs 257.1± 41.6; p=0.016) and higher international normalized ratio (INR) (1.8±1.3 vs 1.1±0.6; p=0.031) than the group of patients without bleeding. There is no bleeding observed on day 1, 3 and 7 postextractions. Dental extractions in patients undergoing anticoagulant therapy can be performed safely, however, it is necessary to pay attention to do comprehensive preoperative evaluation (particularly of INR and platelet count) to minimize the risk of bleeding especially at 1-hour post-extraction.
